What is the DVA Veterans’ Home Care Program (VHC)?
Veterans’ Homes Care (VHC) is a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) program designed to assist veterans and war widows/widowers needing a small amount of practical help around the home to maintain health, well-being and independence. It is not designed to meet complex or high-level care needs.
What services can Alliance Care provide under Veterans’ Home Care?
Veterans’ Home Care is designed to help veterans to continue living at home by providing a small amount of practical help.
Services include: Domestic Assistance, Personal Care, Respite Care, Social Assistance
How is the cost of Veterans’ Home Care covered?
If you qualify for Veterans’ Home Care, you will be asked to contribute a co-payment towards the cost of your services (the exception is respite care service, which has no co-payment).
If you can’t afford co-payments, you can apply for a waiver of your co-payment through the
Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Please get in touch if you need assistance; we’re happy to help.
What if I need more help at home?
We are here to help. Alliance Care provides a wide range of services under other programs that may benefit your needs. These include: NDIS Services, Commonwealth Home Support Program or Private Services.
